Basmati Rice

This aged, extra-long grain, aromatic Basmati Rice grown in the fertile soil of Himalayan
 foothills of Dehradun, India.
Prized for its extra- long, non-sticky rice, remains firm yet tender with fluffier texture, 
gives wonderful fragrant aroma and nutty-sweet, delicious flavor. 
It gives excellent cooking quality rice in Indian, Middle Eastern, and Persian cuisines. Ideal for classic dishes like Biryani or fluffy pilaf rice, and also in sweet dishes like rice pudding.

Basmati Rice has medium glycemic index (between-56 and 69), suitable for diabetics.

Cooking Instructions:

  1. In a sauce pan add 1 ½ cup (2 Cups if aged rice) of water/ Cup of washed & rinsed rice, add 1 tsp salt (optional)


  1. Stir lightly, bring to a rolling boil, lower the heat, cover with lid and simmer for 15 minutes.


  1. Turn off the heat, let the rice steamed in the covered pot at least another 5 minutes or until the rice has absorbed the liquid.


  1. Drizzle a little butter or ghee into the rice (optional), fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.



1 Cup of Rice will yield: 2 ½ cup of cooked rice.
