Bean Seasoning
Bean seasoning is a blend of spices that's added to bean recipes during the cooking
process, to enhance their flavor. It adds depth and complexity to the flavor of beans. Bean seasonings can also be used to season other dishes like soups, dips, stews, or even roasted
vegetables. Can be used to flavor salads, and even as a topping for rice or quesadillas.
Use 2-3tbsp ‘bean seasoning’ mix per pound of dry beans
Ingredients: Onion, Paprika, Red Bell Pepper, Green Bell Pepper, Tomato, Garlic, Black Pepper, Sea Salt, Parsley, Chili Chipotle, Smoked Flavor Powder.
Sample recipe to cook beans with bean seasoning:
Clean & rinse 1lb dry beans, put into a large pot and pour water to cover by 2 to 3 inches, let beans soak overnight. Drain beans, return to pot, and pour in fresh water to cover; add 2oz diced tomatoes, 1 chopped onion and 2tablespoons of beans seasoning. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 3 hours. Stir cilantro and salt into bean mixture; simmer until beans are soft, about 1 more hour.
