Cajun Dirty Rice
A slightly spicy blend of rice mixed with grain, herbs, spices, vegetables and aromatics for a quick and easy flavorful Southern-style dish. Add sliced sausage and red beans for a traditional New Orleans dish.
Ingredients: Rice, kaniwa grain, bell peppers, salt, contains 2% or less of onion, celery, spices, paprika, canola oil, garlic, cayenne pepper, sugar
Cooking Instructions:
1. In a sauce pan add 2 cups of water or broth / Cup rice, 1 tbsp butter.
2. Bring to boil, lower the heat, cover with lid and simmer for 15-20 minutes or grain are tender.
3. Turn off the heat, let the rice steamed in the covered pot at least another 5 minutes or until the rice has absorbed the liquid.
4. Fluff with fork and ready to serve.
One cup of rice will yield: 2 1/2 cups of cooked rice
