British Mixed Spice

Mixed spice is a typically blend of sweet & fragrant spices provide a hot warming back note (but not too hot), used mostly in British cuisine for baking & desserts. It adds a warm spicy note to both sweet and savory dishes.

It is used in a variety of cakes and puddings, such as fruit cake, gingerbread and Christmas plum pudding, mincemeat and hot cross buns. Mixed spice is also used in fruity desserts such as apple & fruit pies and compotes.
